Flamingos hand new NFF Board first World Cup victory

The Flamingos celebrate after their victory against New Zealand… yesterday

•Thrash New Zealand 4-0

•Germany Overrun Chile 6-0

After failing to beat Germany in their first group match at the ongoing FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in India, Nigeria’s Flamingos got their campaign back on track yesterday with a comfortable 4-0 victory against New Zealand in their second Group B game.

On Tuesday, the Flamingos went down 1-2 to Germany in their group opener, but the girls vented their anger on Chile yesterday and secured victory through the efforts of Amina Bello, Miracle Usani in the first half, while Taiwo Afolabi and Etim Edidiong added two goals in the second half.

The Flamingos, cheered by the new NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau, took the lead in the 16 minutes through Bello, who headed in a cross from Tumininu Adeshina.

And in the 34th minute, Usani made it 2-0 before Afolabi added the third goal with 15 minutes left. In the 90th minute, Edidiong registered the fourth goal to give the Gusau-led NFF board its first international victory since the September elective congress in Benin City, Edo State.

Gusau and undisclosed number of NFF officials were said to have left for India to cheer the girls after their inaugural board meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

Gusau had charged the players on Thursday to do everything possible to beat New Zealand. The victory yesterday restored Nigeria’s hope of making it to the next round of the World Cup.

The Flamingos will face Chile on Monday in their final group game.

Germany thrashed Chile 6-0 in the second match yesterday to remain top of the group.

Mo Salah Give Harvey Elliott A Heartwarming Hug as the young star Nervously wait for VAR to confirm first champions League goal.

Harvey Elliott had a goal initially chalked off for offside against Rangers
It was a tight call, and VAR intervened to look at whether the goal should stand

Elliott received a hug from Mohamed Salah as he waited for the VAR decision
The original decision was overturned, giving Elliott his first European goal
Harvey Elliott had a nervous wait to find out if he'd scored his first Champions League goal against Rangers on Wednesday, but he had his Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah on hand to comfort him.

After a closely-fought first half which saw Roberto Firmino cancel out Scott Arfield's opener, Jurgen Klopp's side ran riot in the second half with Firmino adding his second before Darwin Nunez found the net and Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick in less than six minutes.

With the clock ticking down, Elliott put the ball in the net,Everything on JUMIA but his strike was initially ruled out for offside.

It immediately looked like a tight call, and VAR started to check whether the goal should stand or not.

Despite the result being beyond doubt, Elliott was clearly eager to get off the mark in Europe's biggest club competition, and he looked up anxiously at the big screen for the best part of a minute as he waited for the final verdict from VAR.

Salah was equally keen for the teenager to get on the scoresheet and gave him a big hug as the pair shared a heartwarming moment.

They both had smiles on their faces, seemingly optimistic that the goal would eventually be given, and it was finally awarded to cap off a dominant 7-1 win for the Reds.

As the decision was confirmed, Salah jumped on Elliott's back, while the youngster ran over to celebrate in front of the away fans.

Elliott scored his first Premier League goal earlier this season in Liverpool's 9-0 rout of Bournemouth, and he has now registered his first strike in Europe.

The creative midfielder has been one of Liverpool's bright sparks in an otherwise disappointing start to the campaign for the team, and he impressed again at Ibrox.

He could now be pushing for a starting berth when Liverpool return to league action against defending champions Manchester City on Sunday.

The Pride Of London Cruise past AC Milan With A 2-0 Win

Chelsea FC made it two wins over AC Milan in less than a week after defeating the Rossoneri 2-0 at the San Siro on Tuesday.

Chelsea were dominant from start to finish as AC Milan had to play majority of the game one man down as former Chelsea man Fikayo Tomori got sent off in the 18th minute.

Italy midfielder Jorginho made no mistake to convert the resultant penalty, and Chelsea pressed home their advantage with a second goal not long after: Aubameyang scoring for the third game running after a sweet move orchestrated by Kovacic and Mount.

Chelsea maintained the pressure up in the second half, and created multiple chances but could not convert any to add to the lead.

The match at the other side between Salsburg and Dynamo Zagreb ended 1 all. Meaning that Chelsea are now at the top of the table with 7 points while Salsburg are in the second position with 7 points.

The win sees Chelsea climb to the top of the table with a point ahead of Salzburg.

Milan are placed third after suffering two consecutive defeats to the Blues, but have a fighting chance to making it to the next round for the first time since 2013-14 season.

And 15 minutes later, Ronaldo scored Manchester United 2nd goal to complete a comeback win for the team.

BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea reached Agreement to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen

Chelsea have reportedly reached agreement to signing Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer transfer window, as coach Frank Lampard is keen on rebuilding his squad ahead of next season.

The London club have already added Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to the team, and are still on the brink of signing Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

However, Chelsea are considering swooping for a goalkeeper as Frank Lampard appears not to be comfortable with the performances of current shot stopper Kepa Arizzabalaga who has conceded over 45goals this season.

And reports claims the Blues might have won the race to another signing this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea has reached an agreement with Trapzonspor to sign goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, and reports suggests the Blues will pay around £30million for the 24-year old star.

Kepa may be the most expensive goalkeeper in Chelsea’s transfer history, but with his massive drop in form this season, Frank Lampard would have no other option but to replace the Spaniard this season.

BREAKING NEW: Real Madrid Win 34th League Title

Real Madrid have been crowned LaLiga champions for the 34th time with a game to spare after beating Villarreal 2-1 on Thursday.

Los Blancos' victory at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano at their Valdebebas training centre means they have an unassailable lead over Clasico rivals Barcelona, whose result against Osasuna was rendered meaningless.

It is Madrid's first LaLiga title since the 2016-17 campaign and means they have now won the top flight eight more times than Barca, who will finish second.

Zinedine Zidane has now won 11 trophies across two spells in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu and this marks his first since returning to the hot seat in March 2019.

The Frenchman departed following Madrid's triumph in the 2017-18 Champions League final, their third in as many seasons under the club great.

Madrid finished a distant third in a hugely underwhelming campaign last term, in which they were defeated 12 times in LaLiga, but have lost just three games this season and have racked up 10 straight wins since the season resumed following the three-month coronavirus-enforced break.

Another Champions League trophy remains a possibility, though they must overturn a 2-1 first-leg deficit against Manchester City in the last 16 to continue their tilt for European glory.

Kai Havertz makes decision to join Chelsea

Don’t expect the Kai Havertz to Chelsea transfer saga to end anytime in the very near future at least.

We see report after report on the biggest transfer story of the summer so far, but as per reliable German publication Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen want Havertz to finish the season with them by competing in the rest of the Europa League in August.

The report, as translated by Transfermarkt, offers some very positive news for Chelsea fans though.

They claim that Havertz has made the decision to join Chelsea this summer, and this has been agreed for some time.

The price will not be an issue, with Roman Abramovich ‘willing and capable’ to sign the German international regardless.

This is welcome news for Blues fans who might be concerned of other clubs coming in for the 21-year old. Of course, nothing is done until it is officially announced by either club, so we have a way to go yet.

Hazard is Lazy: John Obi Mikel

Hazard is enduring a torrid season so far in spain

Obi Mikel, now playing in Turkey, spent 11 seasons at Chelsea, five of them alongside Hazard, but was far from complimentary of the Real Madrid forward's work ethic, while insisting Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was the hardest working.

Hazard's start to life in Spain has not gone to plan, with injuries hampering his progress. Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has questioned the fitness work Hazard has put in earlier this month, with former team-mate Mikel the latest to question Hazard's methods.

"The laziest player I have played alongside is Eden Hazard," Mikel told beIN Sports in Turkey.
"Hazard has an incredible talent, maybe not as good as [Lionel] Messi, but he can do whatever he wants with the ball at his feet.
