Really cool tricks for your cell phone

These cell phone codes and tricks seem really cool, as they have some magic functions, especially for feature phones. You may run into them elsewhere, but I do not think anyone has tried them. So do not take them too seriously.

1. Type **21*999999# and press the answering key will enable you to block any call. If someone tries to call you, he or she will be hearing ‘the number you called does not exist’. Type ##21# and press answer key to disable it, your phone will resume to normal condition.
This does sound cool, especially for feature phones which does not have apps to help achieve this feature. However it does not work, at least does not work in my case. Since more and more people own Smartphone, many apps will do the same job. If you do not have a Smartphone, go get one.

2. Have your car keys locked inside, and the remote control are also left at home? Place your phone somewhere one foot near your car and call and ask your family to press the unlock button.
I do not have a car and could not try it, but I really doubt it.

3. Phone is running out of battery? Enter *3370# and your phone will reboot, and it will see a 50% increase in battery life. It’s said that this code only works for Nokia phone. How it works? Someone says there’s hidden battery.
This is really shit, does not work in any phone, and ridiculous.

4. Your phone goes missing? Enter *#06# and your IMEI number will show up. Give this number to your mobile operator and ask them to blacklist it. Even someone get your phone and change the SIM card, the phone will be denied of service.
This code does work, but it’s nothing magic and everyone knows it. In fact, if you are afraid of losing your phone, install some cell phone tracking app and it will help you get it back.
If you are looking for some magic codes, these may let you down. But come back later and we have many useful service codes that could help you know more about your phone and save time.

Top 7 tips to uptimize your cell phone performance

If you're not satisfied with the way your phone works or would like to improve its functionality, then don't worry about it anymore, because in the following paragraphs you'll be presented with ten tips to improve smart phone performance.cell phone tricks

Weak Signal

A weak signal is not good for your battery. If you're in an area with weak signal, this will drain your battery fast.  Make sure you don't stash your phone in your crowded briefcase or purse because than you risk draining your phone’s battery.

Restart your phone

Restart your phone for fresh use. This is actually required because your phone is a fully fledged computer. By doing so you will help correct various glitches that hinder performance.

Update your OS

With age, your phone's capabilities are slowed down. If you want to stave off obsolescence, then you need to update your phone OS whenever new versions are released. However, in time, as technology advances, your phone will eventually struggle to muster the necessary processing power to fill your needs.
cell phone tips

Avoid Streaming HD Video

Data allowance is killed by videos. If you have a plan of a few GB per month, watching HD video will easily use that allowance. On top of that, playing online games and streaming music will also do the same, so avoid them as much as possible.

Don't use screen protectors

You know very well that your phone's touch screen is not as responsive when you use one. On top of that, it can also develop unsightly air bubbles which are very annoying.

Don't use a case

Yes, a case will protect your phone from impact, but generally they make your phone bulkier, harder to use and sometimes prevent access to certain functions. So try and avoid them as much as possible.

Don't use optical zoom

As you know, your cell phone has a digital, not optical zoom. When you zoom in, details are pixilated and the image resulted isn't great at all. That is why you should move in closer for those close-up shots.

Secret service codes for your Nokia phone

Nokia used to be the world’s largest cell phone manufacturer. It has made millions of feature phone and Symbian Smartphone. Those phones vary greatly. Take Symbian phone as an example, Symbian OS has a few version, S60V2, S60V3, S60V5 and Symbian 3 etc. The former two come with a keyboard while the latter are touch phones. Because of that, Nokia phone service codes vary depending on your model. Below are the common codes which should apply to almost all models.
*#06# – Shows your IMEI number. As a matter of fact this code is universally used and applies to almost all other phones.
*#92702689# (*#WAR0ANTY#) – Shows warranty information. Note you need to turn off your phone and back on to exit it.
*#7370925538# (*#RES0WALLET#) – This code resets Nokia phone’s wallet code with wallet contents.
*#2820# (*#BTA0#) – It shows Bluetooth Address for Bluetooth enabled cell phones.
*#62209526# (*#MAC0WLAN#) – Shows WiFi MAC address for Nokia WLAN enabled mobile phones.
*#7780# (*#RST0#) – Normal reset, restore your cell phone to factory settings.
*#7370# (*#RES0#) – Deep reset, restore cell phone to factory settings and format all user data stored in memory. Remember to take out your MicroSD card first.
*#0000# – Shows your cell phone’s firmware version.
*3370# (*EFR0#) – Activates Enhanced Full Rate codec (EFR) (your cell phone uses the best sound quality but talk time is reduced by approx. 5%).
#3370# (#EFR0#) – Deactivate Enhanced Full Rate codec (EFR).
*4720# (*HRA0#) – Activate Half Rate codec (your cell phone uses a lower quality sound but you should gain approx. 30% more talk time).
#4720# (#HRA0#) – Deactivate the Half Rate codec.
*#67705646# (*#OPR0LOGO#) – Removes operator logo on some phones. May not work on other phones.

a few tips of saving your android battery life

Android phone hardware are getting more and more powerful. Now we get over 2G frequency cpu, over 400M frequency GPU. Here comes the most important, larger screen. For example, Samsung Galaxy SIII has a huge 4.8′ screen, not to mention note II’s incredible 5.5 display. However we have to charge our battery once everyday with the development of the hardware until we see some breakthrough in battery technology.
It’s more important to learn how to save battery life before we could see any significant increase in mobile battery capacity. Here are a few tips on saving your battery life,
1. Reduce display brightness. Turn down the brightness is up till now the most effective way to save your battery life. If you go see your battery usage, screen always eats the most battery, this is very true if you have a large screen. If you reduce the display brightness by 30% or 50%, the battery life will be drastically prolonged. For instance, my phone has a 4.7′ display, and I set the brightness from

marketplace Africa

The real mobile revolution: Africa's smartphone future
Samsung leads the smartphone market in Africa. It hopes its entry-level Samsung Galaxy Pocket will drive its sales in the continent

As the world's fastest growing market for mobile phones, Africa is ripe for the upcoming disruption that will be ushered in by ubiquitous Internet access through smartphones.

The past wave of mobile phone adoption on the continent from 2000 to 2010 gained a very huge accelerated at an impressive 31% compound annual growth rate enhanced by affordable dumb and feature phones sold at mass market price points.
Today, the illustration is transforming rigorously..

There is an expectation for Africa`s Smartphone market to double in the next four to five  years and device manufacturers that got the narrative dominated over the past decade such as Nokia are making big bets on the continent's smartphone future. Microsoft/Nokia through the Lumia Windows phone line are on the betting that the continent's rising economic basis coupled with a rising hunger for connected devices will spur significant demand.

Since 2011 Huawei has bet that its sub $100 Android devices will herald a new era of smartphone penetration in some of Africa's largest mobile phone markets like Nigeria and Kenya..Samsung has adopted a similar strategy, targeting student populations and engaging celebrities to trigger mass appeal and its tactics appear to be gaining traction.
Samsung has also adopted a similar strategy, targeting student populations and engaging celebrities to trigger mass appeal and its tactics appear to be gaining waves.

According to International Data Corp, 52% of all smartphones sold on the continent in the second quarter of 2013 were Samsung phones and the company has quickly ascended in a short period of time to become Africa's smartphone leader. Chinese manufacturer Tecno has also increasingly been making its intentions clear: "Our desire is to flood the African mobile phone markets with Tecno smartphones," its director of marketing, Boukali Mounir said in an interview recently.

Tecno humbly started out by introducing relatively simple phones in the African market but very quickly scaled up its offerings to include affordable smartphones and now has its ambitions set on continent-wide domination. Then there is the Blackberry, which despite its cataclysmic woes in Western markets, continues to enjoy significant patronage on the continent.

The coming African smartphone wave poses an interesting dilemma for app developers on the continent. Should they invest their skills acquisition and app development efforts in Africa's feature phone past or its exciting smartphone future? That not withstanding, despite the growth prospects, Africa is still largely a feature phone heavyweight play with smartphones making up 18% of phones in Africa..

How to control your PC with your mobile phone using bluetooth, (detailed tutorial)

I still recall the astonished looks on my friends’ and colleagues’ faces when I controlled a PowerPoint presentation with my phone.  I think they listened with enthusiasm.....

Soon after that, many of them installed Mobilewitch Bluetooth Remote Control, a freeware Java application that allows you to remotely control your PC (you could never guess from the app name in several different ways.
The application isn’t new, but is very, very effective, so for those of you who still have problems connecting, here’s the tutorial.
Setting up is relatively easy: after you download the application (from here), install it on your computer. Now you have to transfer MWRemoteCtrl.jar file to your phone. This file should be located on your computer desktop, but if it not, go to C:\Program Files\Mobile Witch Remote Control folder, and you’ll find it. You can send this file via USB cable, or preferably, via bluetooth. (You do need to have a bluetooth adapter to get this thing to work.)
Install the .jar file on your cell. I recommend installing on phone’s memory, instead on memory card, it will only consume 71kB.
Now, this may seem a bit complicated, but it’s worth it in the long run.
Before launching the application, go to Application Manager, find MWRemoteCtrl (it will probably be at the bottom of the list, so press “Up” a few times and you’ll find it) and click Options->Open. Scroll down till you get to Connectivity:

Select ‘Always allowed’ instead of ‘Ask first time’. This will remove the extremely annoying nag screen that normally shows up on application launch. Exit the Application Manager and turn on the bluetooth on your phone! And the answer is yes,
Now run both the PC application (icon is on your desktop), and the mobile application (the icon is most likely located in the ‘Applications’ folder). Make sure that your bluetooth adapter is plugged in your PC and that your computer is discoverable (in Bluetooth Settings check “Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer” and “Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer”). (Click on image to enlarge.)
We’re almost there
Click on “Search for servers” on your phone. After a few seconds, you should see the name of your PC (for example My PC). Click on it, and that’s it! You are now connected to your computer via bluetooth.
Now you can choose how will you control your PC:

You can move mouse pointer using your cell’s d-pad in the Mouse mode,  or press some keyboard buttons in the Keyboard mode, but the “main”, and, by far, the most useful mode is the Application mode.
Here you can manage and control Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox,Windows Media Player. PowerPoint, Winamp and  Personally, and I recommend you to try PowerPoint and Winamp, one for work use, and one for personal use . discovery: Adobe Reader/Acrobat is not listed here, but when you use it in full screen mode, you can switch through pages!
Hope this helps, enjoy changing tracks in Winamp from the comfort of your Sofa...
 comments and questions are welcomed!
