Ex. Police Officer nabbed By Agbor Vigilante For Stealing

The Delta State Community Vigilante Police, Alihagu chapter in Agbor, headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State have arrested a dismissed police officer for stealing.

The  dismissed police officer; Mr. Benedict Jonathan Sunday, was exposed during the week when he allegedly entered someone's apartment in the community to steal an Android phone.

It was indeed a show of shame for the the dismissed officer who confessed to the crime just as he was been shamed by the community indigenes that further narrated his crimes.

According to eye witness. the 45year old suspect had broken into government schools in the agrian community to steal metals which he sold to northerners as scrap's among others.

Confessing to his crime before the newsmen in Agbor, the suspect said he was dismissed from the force in 2018, after which he engaged in the crime by using his fake police identity card, bearing a Warranty Id card and the rank of an Inspector, to arrest commercial motorcyclists without plate number, particularly within College Junction axis at cool evenings, adding that he demands his victims to pay him or have their motorcycle being seized.

Meanwhile, Sunday regretted his crime and in the same vein pleaded for pardon.

The community vigilante Chairman, Mr. Aliemeke Onyekachukwu, also speaking to newsmen pointed out that the imposter had committed lots of crime in the community, stating that the phone he stole was recovered from a bush path where he allegedly hid the item.

He reiterated the commitment of his vigilante group to serve, advising that all hands must be on deck to ensure a crime free society.

Bad for Mr. Benedict Sunday, he now holds the record of being the first suspect to be locked in the cell of the newly built community security house which was donated by an illustrious son of the community.
